31 Days of Sharing God's Love Day 8 Confession

Hi, thanks for stopping by.  I know you must be new here, because I am new. Please check out
My Story to get to know me better or subscribe here. Welcome!

Okay today is Day 8 of our series and I have a little confession to make.  I'm not very proud of myself but here goes. Up until a few weeks ago I was not reading the bible with my kids at night.
I know...I know not good but true.  Honestly I don't even know what happened.  We had a whole routine at night.  I would pray with them both, but for some reason we got out of the habit of reading the bible.  We used to make sure we read it each night and then we would pray.  Then slowly reading the bible slipped out of the picture, and we were just praying.  It was such a subtle change that I didn't even notice, until my mom brought it to my attention one day.  Thank God for a grandma that loves her grandkids, and is always looking out for their relationship with the Lord.  We were just having a conversation and she asked "Do you read the bible to the kids every night?" I then thought about it and realized my answer is "No." She immediately made me commit to start reading the bible each night.  Not that I didn't want to but now she was keeping me accountable to my word.

Every morning I was making sure that I had my alone time with God.  I would read God's Word, and pray, but I needed to make sure that I was doing the same for my kids.

That is just how satan works.  He will make the change seem so subtle, you won't even notice. That's why it is important to have the right people around you.  Someone that you can trust that will tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.

So long story short I now read the bible with my kids every night.  I know God's Word is the foundation to their relationship with Him.  This is how I share God's Love with them each day.
I spoke about this on DAY 6.  Take a look at a few different ways to share His Love.

Now each night I can't wait until the kids get all snuggled up in their beds.  They are all ready for the night routine.  The look of excitement and anticipation on their faces, for each bible story, is all this mother needs to see.

Do you read the bible with your kids each night?

Does your house have a nighttime routine that the kids look forward to each night?
