About Me

My photo
Welcome my name is Sherri. I am a follower of Jesus. I have been blessed to be the wife to my best friend Markiel. I am a mother to my tween son Amari and my preschool daughter Sanai. By God's grace I have found true joy in serving my family in our home. Even amongst all the everyday craziness I know this where God has called me to be. I learn something new everyday. I also recently became a part time bible teacher at my daughter's preschool. So I have the best of both worlds.

What Wives Wear Link Up:Week 25

Welcome to the

Week 25

Free Graphic Tee

Last weekend I didn't have any major plans.
It was just one of those days when I tried to do
as little as possible.

Eventually I had to go out and run a few errands.
On my way back home with the kids we wandered upon
what I always love to find. Free fun for the kids!

The local 7Eleven was having a customer appreciation day.
They had free food, Slurpees, face painting, games and prizes.

The kids had fun eating food and winning prizes, and I did too.

One of my wonderful prizes that I chose from
the prize table was this Arizona Iced Tea graphic tee.

I always love a good graphic tee and this one had
great colors and a little bit of Aztec print.

I couldn't wait to see how I could style it.

I thought it would go well with my high waisted
leather skirt and black tights.

I also decided to layer the graphic tee over a wardrobe staple...
my chambray shirt. I can wear this shirt a thousand ways.

I was in a colorful mood so I threw my hair up in a bun
with this fun bandana, but honestly when am I not
 in a colorful mood?

These camel booties I got last year at Target.
I loved the wedge heel and the little gold accents.
I'm sure you will see them again in other outfits.

Courtney is wearing a western poncho which is
perfect for any fall day.
She matches it with dark denim skinnies and
brown heeled booties.

Her double strand tiered drop necklace looks
great with the poncho.

Shauna is sharing an all black look with a
classic dress, long jacket and heels.
Her jacket with leather accents gives this
outfit an edgy look.

Her cutout open toe heels and checkered
clutch finish off the outfit.

What Wives Wear Link Up:Week 24

Welcome to the

Week 24

Color Run Cool&Recap
A while back I was blessed with the opportunity
to win free registration for the Color Run
aka "The happiest 5k on the planet!"

How you ask? It was through a giveaway
hosted by my blogger buddy Tiffany from MrsTeeLoveLifeLaughter.

I was so excited because I had never done a run,
or thought about doing a run in my life.

This one looked so fun and plus the hubby and I really
wanted to start on track with our healthier lifestyle,
so what better way than with a 5k run!

I chose the Atlantic City location and I had the perfect plan.

Originally I thought it was in November during our anniversary weekend,
so I planned to make it a nice weekend.

We would do the run then celebrate our anniversary
by going to dinner.

Until one day I looked at the information and realized
wait a minute... the run was in October not November!
So much for my big anniversary plans.

That also meant we had exactly a month
to start training, and we hadn't even started yet.

In entered the "Couch to 5k" app which we began to use
to be somewhat 5k ready.

The day came and we were ready to go, except
it was pouring raining that day.

In my head I had a completely different outfit planned for the day.
Including a colorful tutu and sunnies, but when I saw the weather
it was time to go to outfit plan B.

I guess the rain didn't stop everyone because I saw plenty
of colorful tutus, sunnies, and much more out there.

Here is the awesome swag you get when you register for the run.

This is outfit plan B. Pouring rain style.

It was raining so hard I wasn't able to convince my hubby
to take some outfit shots that day, so these were taken afterwards.

As you can see from the leftover color on my sneakers.

I was so cold that day I had to buy a Color Run hoodie and
the rainbow knee socks to keep warm.

I made sure to roll up my pants so my socks could show.

My hubby and I really enjoyed walking and running
through each color. It definitely made the run go faster.

This is us before the run.

This is us after.

We had a great time and the rain couldn't stop us.
Go Team Singley!

We even talked about bringing the kids next time
and making it a family event.

Here are some of the after run festivities.

This weeks Top Two picks were two sweet ladies
that recently joined our linkup.

Sherell is sharing with us a stylish and professional look.
Blazers are so chic especially when worn
in a beautiful blue color like this.
This blazer will definitely draw attention.

Sherell balances out the look with sleek black pants,
and black open-toed shoes.

Ariel is right on trend with her red & black plaid jacket.
She lets the jacket stand out by wearing it over
a solid black dress.

To complete the look she is wearing brown lace up boots.

What Wives Wear LinkUp:Week 23

Welcome to the
What Wives Wear Link Up!
Week 23

Leather & Plaid

Since plaid is just perfect for the season I decided
to wear one of my favorite plaid shirts.

This shirt actually has short sleeves.
A way that I can still wear it in the fall,
is to pair it up with this thrifted leather bomber jacket.

Now contrary to my mother's advice I like to wear
white after labor day, especially if it's
in the form of a leather jacket.

That is definitely appropriate for the season.

You can never go wrong with skinny jeans
and red suede boots for a pop of color.

Of course I couldn't forget to match up
my red lipstick to my boots.

Remember this cute little cross body bag
that I got for my trip to Disney?

It is perfect, I wear it everyday, and it goes with everything!

This week we chose Iris, who is sharing a
casual look that anyone could pull off.

Her plaid shirt is perfect for the fall.
Just to make it fancy she is wearing a statement necklace.
She compliments the look with distressed skinny jeans,
and tan wedge sandals.

Our next favorite look of last week is Rebecca.
Rebecca is sharing a grey and black look.
The grey long sleeved tee is matched up with
a grey and black striped vest.
The leather skater skirt is a great transition piece.
To complete the look she is wearing snakeskin
printed wedges.

What Wives Wear Link Up:Week 22

Welcome to the
What Wives Wear Link Up!
Week 22

Summer To Fall:Aztec Top Remix

I always love to find pieces that can be
transitioned throughout a season.

To be honest when your a budget conscious momma
like me, making pieces work for more than one season,
can double the size of my already small wardrobe.

Some of you might remember the bright pink aztec top
that I wore for my last birthday.

I loved how the pink popped against my white tank
underneath and the white skinny jeans.

I decided I wasn't quite ready to give it up and pack it away
for the fall so I had to make it fall appropriate.

What better way to transition this top into the fall,
then to throw on a cobalt blue blazer that picks up the
blue in the aztec print.

I also added these dark blue jeggings, which I tend to wear
with everything because they are just so comfortable.

These are my new favorite boots. I got these boots for a steal.
I picked them up for half price when Payless
was having one of their BOGO sales.

They were already on clearance so I ended up
paying only nine dollars for them.

I told my hubby I just couldn't pass them up.
