About Me

My photo
Welcome my name is Sherri. I am a follower of Jesus. I have been blessed to be the wife to my best friend Markiel. I am a mother to my tween son Amari and my preschool daughter Sanai. By God's grace I have found true joy in serving my family in our home. Even amongst all the everyday craziness I know this where God has called me to be. I learn something new everyday. I also recently became a part time bible teacher at my daughter's preschool. So I have the best of both worlds.

What Wives Wear Link Up:Week 24

Welcome to the
What Wives Wear Link Up!
Week 24

Color Run Cool&Recap
A while back I was blessed with the opportunity
to win free registration for the Color Run
aka "The happiest 5k on the planet!"

How you ask? It was through a giveaway
hosted by my blogger buddy Tiffany from MrsTeeLoveLifeLaughter.

I was so excited because I had never done a run,
or thought about doing a run in my life.

This one looked so fun and plus the hubby and I really
wanted to start on track with our healthier lifestyle,
so what better way than with a 5k run!

I chose the Atlantic City location and I had the perfect plan.

Originally I thought it was in November during our anniversary weekend,
so I planned to make it a nice weekend.

We would do the run then celebrate our anniversary
by going to dinner.

Until one day I looked at the information and realized
wait a minute... the run was in October not November!
So much for my big anniversary plans.

That also meant we had exactly a month
to start training, and we hadn't even started yet.

In entered the "Couch to 5k" app which we began to use
to be somewhat 5k ready.

The day came and we were ready to go, except
it was pouring raining that day.

In my head I had a completely different outfit planned for the day.
Including a colorful tutu and sunnies, but when I saw the weather
it was time to go to outfit plan B.

I guess the rain didn't stop everyone because I saw plenty
of colorful tutus, sunnies, and much more out there.

Here is the awesome swag you get when you register for the run.

This is outfit plan B. Pouring rain style.

It was raining so hard I wasn't able to convince my hubby
to take some outfit shots that day, so these were taken afterwards.

As you can see from the leftover color on my sneakers.

I was so cold that day I had to buy a Color Run hoodie and
the rainbow knee socks to keep warm.

I made sure to roll up my pants so my socks could show.

My hubby and I really enjoyed walking and running
through each color. It definitely made the run go faster.

This is us before the run.

This is us after.

We had a great time and the rain couldn't stop us.
Go Team Singley!

We even talked about bringing the kids next time
and making it a family event.

Here are some of the after run festivities.

Join us each week and we may just pick you!

This weeks Top Two picks were two sweet ladies
that recently joined our linkup.

Sherell is sharing with us a stylish and professional look.
Blazers are so chic especially when worn
in a beautiful blue color like this.
This blazer will definitely draw attention.

Sherell balances out the look with sleek black pants,
and black open-toed shoes.

Ariel is right on trend with her red & black plaid jacket.
She lets the jacket stand out by wearing it over
a solid black dress.

To complete the look she is wearing brown lace up boots.

Aww! Thanks for the feature! I'm glad to be in great company with you ladies!
Love that hoodie- I did the Color Run this year in freezing sleet, hail and thunder so I am hoping for better weather next time! I figure it made me run faster as I just wanted to finish and go home.
I was wondering where you got that colorful jacket at, I didn't realize at the time it was a Color Run jacket. You look great before and after... I really hope we both get better weather the next time we run Color Runs!!
I've always wanted to do the color run! It looks so fun!

You look so cute in your colorful running outfit! That run sounds like a lot of fun. I need to do one like that. Have a great weekend! ~Cynthia
I really need to sign up for one of these runs soon. Everyone around me raves about how much fun it is and to boot -- they are doing something healthy and great for them. Thanks for the review.

Good for you! I think a month is enough time to train for a 5k. I've never used the Couch to 5k app but know people that have...it seems to work. I love the socks and the before and after pics. Great job!
I just ran my 2nd Color Run last weekend in Mobile, AL. So much fun! My whole FAM came with last year to cheer & Zumba before. This year my 9 yo daughter trained & ran with me. Great memories made! Over from SITS Saturday.
I love all the color with your socks. What a blast! So glad you found me so that I could discover your blog! It's adorable!
